Quick note: Check out my Faster Times piece on how Red Sox GM Theo Epstein admitted that Jonathan Papelbon is "not a Rhodes scholar." The thing is, I actually think Papelbon was right in his concerns about Billy Wagner, so I come to his defense - a little!
In other news, Squawker readers and Twitter followers are unanimous - if Kevin Youkilis is Fred "Twinkletoes" Flintstone, then Dustin Pedroia is Barney Rubble!
What do you think? Tell us about it!
Actually, you all are wrong. Your rag arm, wimpy closer is the real "twinkletoes". What is that gay toe-tap thing he does before each pitch? Talk about gay! And bending over before each pitch, what is that for, so Derek and Gay-rod can get a good look? We all know how those two are.... and the rumor was that Mike Piazza was gay? Wrong again, Skankees, better look in your own clubhouse first if you are looking for gays.

ReplyDeleteOut of the mouths of babes.
ReplyDeleteThat was very enlightening, Anon - nice going, son! You sure showed Lisa who's boss!
Anon,
ReplyDeleteWhy do people insult others by questioning their sexuality? It's 2009, who cares anymore. If a gay man is the best closer in the world I want him on my team.
But really Lisa, you entice these idiots with the constant name calling of RS players. Why don't you knock it off and discuss something baseball fans can really sink their teeth into. And if we are tagging players with cartoon names how about Deputy Dawg for Texiera. He has the strangest look on his face when he is at bat, like he is about to fall asleep.
Wilma? Is this secretly Mrs. Youkilis? :)
ReplyDeleteMaybe Anon is the Rhodes Scholar Lisa is alluding to! LOL!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, our "rag arm, wimpy gay" closer is a 1st ballot HOFer with multiple World Series rings, 518 career saves to this point and a squeaky-clean record, not to mention that he is arguably the greatest closer in baseball history.
ReplyDeleteBut, what do I know? I'm just a Skankee fan...
And any team would want the Yankees closer - even at the end of his career he is amazing. And wouldn't being Wilma make me Mrs. Youklis! Let's keep our name calling straight!
ReplyDeleteWilma, I don't see the Deputy Dawg thing for Teixeira, but I totally agree with you about the face(s) he makes. I even wrote something earlier this year about his facial expressions! They're pretty funny to watch.
ReplyDeleteI'd rather Papelbon began to resemble Arthur Rhodes. The Yankees could always hit him!
