That was a satisfying game last night - despite most of the regulars getting a night off, the Yankees still won. And wasn't that a cute moment when Ramiro Pena got his first career homer, and his teammates pretended to ignore him? It was nice when they all surrounded him with hugs.
Busy day for me today, but I just wanted to pass on my Faster Times piece about why Toronto Blue Jays manager J.P. Ricciardi needs to get the old heave-ho.
What do you think? Tell us about it!
Lisa (and Emperor and Peggy if you are out there),
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your AL East Division Title! I hope to celebrate tonight for the Red Sox.
Hey Nam ..
ReplyDeleteThank you. I was at the game Sunday...on pins and needles till the last out. True to the past few years ...Boston seems to beat the Yankees the first half and vice versa the second with the Yanks taking the games. Now there are 11 more IMPORTANT games to go before any true celebrating can be done tho'.
I would think tonight would be the night the Sox get it ...just a Sox win or Rangers loss will do it.
Another stress-free playoffs...
NOT !!!! hahaha
As they say ...may the best team win and you know who I think that is ... :o).
Enjoy the playoffs ...
Peggy
Go Yankees 2009 !!!
Hi Peggy,
ReplyDeleteCool that you got to see it all. My sister was down from MA for our birthday weekend so I was fortunately distracted from having to watch it. Thank goodness we are playing the Angels for our first (and hopefully not our last:)). Either way the Yankees luck out by getting rid of the Sox or the Angels in the first round. The Yankees are the team to beat in the AL.
Sometimes I feel like my Mom when she watches College football - why can't they all win.
You are so right, it is nerve racking. Good luck in the playoffs. I love this time of year, but when it is over I am glad. I need a rest from the tension!!
Have a great day.
Talk with you soon,
Noreen
Happy Belated Bday to both you and your sister ...I hope you had a good one.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about being glad when it ends ...except ...a day later I want it to start all over again..lol. Right after the WS ends I start the countdown to P & C's.
I just hope the weather cooperates since the Series will go into November. I have tickets for the second game of the ALDS and hopefully will be able to get WS tickets if they make it through since being a partial plan holder I get to participate in a pre-sale.
Enjoy the rest of the day ...if the Sox seal it tonight ...my early congrats to you too.
Peggy
"Go Yankees 2009"
Thanks Peggy!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about it starting again. And let's remind each other next April, May and June, when our teams might be struggling, that how you start does not necessarily dictate how they will finish!
Noreen
NAM, thank you very much.
ReplyDeleteAnd don't worry, your team is all but clinched as well, so here's a pre-mature congrats to you as well!
I'm enjoying this stres-free week because the real nail-biting is coming up real soon.
Hey Lisa, did you see who blew the game tonight? Kyle Farnsworth! The man I called Not a Darn'sworth and you called Kerosene Kyle. Except this time, it was in the Yankees' favor! Yee freakin' haw!
