The horror, the horror: Why "Jersey Shore" is trashtastic!

This has absolutely nothing to do with the Yankees, but I've written about "Jersey Shore," MTV's new reality series on self-described Guidos and Guidettes gone wild. And as a native New Jerseyite, I felt compelled to weigh in on the program.

So I've written my thoughts on the new program at my personal blog, Swan Squawking. Check it out.

What do you think? Tell us about it!

The people in that show are the reason I try to stay out of Jersey as much as possible.

I was in Philadelphia on Saturday (before going up to Trenton for the State high school football championship that my alma mater won) and the Inquirer had a big article on that show.

Of course, once you get down to the island on which Atlantic City rests, the Shore becomes less New Jersey/New York and more Philly. Especially Wildwood. Of course, Seaside Heights has plenty of NYC/North Jersey Guidos, and has been trashy (figuratively and literally) for as long as I can remember.

I'm curious as to where Rob A goes to the beach. Fire Island, perhaps? Not that there's anything wrong with that... But if he wants to stay out of New Jersey, fine with us!
