14 runs in one inning? You've got to be kidding me

With all those rockets being launched at Yankee Stadium, should we start calling it The House That Werner Von Braun Built?

Goodness gracious. 14 runs and 13 hits in one half-inning. Oh, and Chien-Ming Wang's ERA is now at 34.50. Unreal.

Well, we finally got some crowd noise. Unfortunately, it was boos raining down on Wang.

I don't understand why so-called Yankee "fans" did that to their team's own player. It's not only wrong, it's counter-productive. Do people really think that Chien-Ming is intentionally pitching poorly there? Or not trying hard? Sometimes Yankee fans make me really sick.
What do you think? Leave us a comment!

Poor Wang, I'm starting to feel bad for a Yankee!

Wow - I'm truly shocked because Wang motored through that first inning. In defense of Yankee fans though - they were making noise when Texeira hit his homer - or at least they looked jubilant, although it still didn't seem as loud on the TV - maybe the place just isn't mic'd the same.

Even if the score holds - imagine the fun with Pavano tomorrow.

Wanda, good to see you!

And Paul, I'm going to go out on a limb and predict a great game for Pavano. It seems like lousy Yankee pitchers always come back and do great against their old team.

Wang's release point is off, his mechanics are weird in general. Plus, he is looking noticeably worse out of the stretch than usual.

I believe these are things he can work out, but not at a Major League level. He's going to magically develop some kind of injury and get sent to the Tampa facility now, I think.

No Lisa, they think booing their own players is some type of reverse psychology. It will make Wang more motivated to pitch better in his next outing. Whenever that will be.

The good news for the yankees is that AJ is piching for the Yankees. So Maybe the Yankees will beat Pavano 1-0
Pavano Stats for Sunday
8 innings
2 hits
0 walks
14 Ks
1 run
and a loss.
The Indians will regret wasting so many runs on Saturday.

Actually, I think Wang may need to go to the minors for a few weeks to get himself straightened out. Steve Trachsel of the Mets had a similar problem one spring, and Trachsel agreed to be sent down to work out his problem with the Norfolk pitching coach. if he went to the minors without being under the glare of the New York media he could fix his mechanics. He might be tipping his pitches. The Mets thought this was Trachsel's problem.

22-4? Why would cleveland elect to go for 2 with that kind of lead? And Roger Goodell has gotten way carried away with adding games to the nfl schedule, april 18 is too late for a football game!

Saw something from someone that this was Clevelands revenge for New York letting mangini go there.
