Yay! Melky Cabrera hits for the cycle!

I can't tell you how glad I am to see Melky Cabrera hit for the cycle. And it's not just because I'm happy that he did it. It's because I was sick of hearing about Tony Fernandez being the last Yankee to hit for the cycle. I don't mean any disrespect to Fernandez, but hearing his name for the last 14 years every time a Yankee got close to the cycle was a little annoying.

And while it wasn't a super-huge deal in the scope of things, it was a little strange to see the Yankees go so long without hitting for the cycle. It was like when Derek Jeter went nearly a decade without hitting a grand slam, and each time he came up to bat with the bases loaded, we saw a graphic with the stat.

Anyhow, I'm also glad the Yanks beat Mark Buerhle and finally won a game in the Cell this weekend. The first three games against the Sox were painful to watch - lots of sloppy baseball. Oh, and I've seen more than enough of Cody Ransom!
