Let me continue with the predictions, since I'm still basking in the afterglow with my correct A-Rod one tonight. I predict that A-Rod will get plunked today as payback for Dustin Pedroia getting hit on Thursday. And so the Sox can get all fired up, ala 2004. Will a brawl ensue? I wouldn't be suprised. And guess what? A-Rod got thrown at not once but twice, with the second pitch hitting him. It was pretty obvious what the Sox were trying to do. Remember, the plunking that started the A-Rod/Varitek fight in 2004 came the night after A-Rod hit a game-winning hit at Fenway. (I think that was the first time out of 789 that A-Rod became a true Yankee. Five years later, we're still hearing that nonsense!)
Speaking of which, I wrote a piece for the Faster Times about A-Rod's clutch numbers, which are actually very good this year. Read it here.
More on Alex to come, of course. His saga never ends!

ESPN is just another mainstream media that malpractices in journalism. Stopped watching many years ago.
Hope you write a comment on Big Papi's press conference. And how people like Lupica are already trying to excuse it. So I guess in David Ortiz's world, if you get pulled over for a DUI because someone spiked the punch at a party, you are really innocent. Or guilty with an explanation. Grow up, Papi, you are responsible for what goes into your body and no matter what, they were PEDs and you gained an advantage from them. Why weren't these "supplements" in the Twins clubhouse when your career was going nowhere? McGuire used andro when it was legal didn't he? Yet today, he is a pariah with no chance at the HOF. It reminds me of the Steve Martin bit of the thief pleading innocent, and telling the judge, "Your Honor, I FORGOT armed robbery was illegal."
Lisa: I am a huge A-Rod fan. I loved your article -- In Defense of A-Rod.
