I just did a piece for Baseball Reflections summing up the Mets' season, and the first section's title is "On the Bright Side." And no, it's not blank. The Mets still have some very good players as well as their best crop of rookies in years. And they've already made their two most important moves for 2011 - getting rid of Omar Minaya and Jerry Manuel.
Of course, there's still Oliver Perez and Luis Castillo. Johan Santana's shoulder injury probably ended any chances of contending in 2011. And "Bright Side" turned out to be a small section in my article.
But with the rookie crop and now the regime change, let's hope 2010 turns out to be a pivotal year in Mets history in a good way.

maybe the past 2 years is going to be like the 1990 to 1991 Yankees, The Mets can change the way they do business and with Prospects, a couple of good trades and a few free agent signings they can be right up there, Not next year but in 2013 is a definite possibility
